Elizabeth Frizell

Judge Elizabeth Davis Frizell is a well-known criminal and civil litigator, former judge, and community leader with 26 years of trial experience. As a native of Fort Worth, Texas, Judge Frizell pursued her education at Prairie View A&M University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Business Management in 1989 and earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1992.  Judge Frizell has spent 13 years as a private practitioner of the Law Office of Elizabeth Davis Frizell specializing in criminal, family, juvenile, and personal injury law. As a former judge, she has presided in the cities of Balch Spring, Lucas, Princeton, and Dallas including Dallas County Criminal Court 11 (Domestic Violence Court) and Dallas Criminal District Court 7.  After a total of 19 years as a Judge, Judge Frizell retired early from the bench to run for Dallas County District Attorney in 2018. After a very close race, she relaunched her career with The Frizell Firm and joined Burt Barr & Associates, LLP. as Co-Counsel for trial and jury selection.

Judge Frizell is an active member of Junior League of Dallas, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., And the Dallas Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. As a part of her community efforts, Judge Frizell conducts legal clinics where she helps the community by providing needed information and free legal advice. Judge Frizell enjoys attending her daughter’s theater plays and her son’s track meets. During her leisure time, she and her husband enjoy skiing and cycling.
