Shea Henry Yoesel is a civil trial attorney who handles general civil litigation, focusing on first-party insurance defense, third-party personal injury defense, bad faith and other extra-contractual liability claims, healthcare liability defense, products liability defense, and insurance coverage. The cases Ms. Yoesel handles include personal injury and wrongful death, premises, transportation, intentional tort, and property damage (including fire).  Having diverse experience in various arenas of civil litigation, Ms. Yoesel is able to ask the right questions and has the ability to bring balance and perspective to each case.

 

Ms. Yoesel was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  She attended Southern Methodist University where she received her Bachelor of the Arts in English Literature with a minor in Spanish in 2007 and was recognized on the Dean’s Honor List and as a SMU University Scholar. Immediately following graduation from SMU, she returned to Houston where she attended South Texas College of Law and received her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2010.  While at South Texas, Ms. Yoesel was recognized on the Dean’s List and was a recipient of the Enrichment Scholarship and The Heart of South Texas Advocacy Award.

  • Obtained summary judgment, affirmed on appeal, dismissing claims against made by Plaintiff against insurer related to UM/UIM coverage under an automobile insurance policy.

  • Obtained summary judgment on negligent entrustment causes of action in personal injury matter, resulting in dismissal of causes of action against her client.

  • Obtained partial 12(B)(6) dismissal of negligence claims made by Plaintiff against clients in a third-party defense matter, granted on briefing without necessity of oral hearing.

  • Obtained favorable rulings in US Southern District Court matter related to remand and forum-selection clause issues.

  • Managed a variety of civil cases from inception to finish, including personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, construction defects, employment, trucking accidents, railroad accidents, corporate disputes, subrogation claims, and insurance coverage issues.

  • Deposed witnesses on a variety of topics, including medical negligence, construction and personal injuries relating to trucking and automobile accidents.

  • Mrs. Henry Yoesel became a licensed member of the State Bar of Texas in 2010. In addition, she is a member of the Bar of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She is a member of the Houston Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Texas Young Lawyers Association.

  • She and her husband enjoy traveling. They are also involved in the Houston community and support various philanthropic organizations.
